2018 June: Colt
Colt is a two-year-old Catahoula mix who was rescued at 8 weeks old and began his tenure at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Fla., at 6 months old. A month into his career, Colt was involved in a golf cart accident and fractured his front leg. Colt’s loyalty to the course never wavered, however, and he was thrilled at the many treats his cast garnered him. Colt made a full recovery and proudly returned as director of animal control, keeping sandhill cranes, armadillos and deer in check, but never harming them. When not darting about the property at top speed, Colt enjoys cruising the course with assistant superintendent Nick Dolimpio, visiting the beverage cart for ice cubes, getting lots of affection from members and taking dips in the crystal-clear water of Lake Nona.
Nick is a 2014 graduate of Delaware Valley College and became the assistant superintendent at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in August 2015. Nick is a two-year member of GCSAA. When Nick and Colt aren’t at the club, they can often be found in their kayak, fishing the Indian River Lagoon, or playing with Colt’s sister, Dally, a 6-year-old Australian shepherd.
