2018 Cover: Trigger

Trigger is a nine-month-old golden retriever who looks over both the North and South courses at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Ill. Despite his age, Trigger is a natural at his job, which isn’t surprising given that his father, Divot, shares the same career at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. Trigger loves to ride shotgun in golf carts; chase geese, deer and squirrels; and greet golfers. He’s quite popular with both Olympia Fields employees and members, and became a social media star during the week of the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Jake Paver, a 2014 graduate of Rutgers University and a two-year GCSAA member, is the assistant superintendent at Olympia Fields. Trigger became Jake’s right-hand man in January 2017, and the pair has been together ever since. When not on the course, Jake can be found spending time with his family and friends, golfing and fishing in summer and snowmobiling in winter.
