December 2023: Mayzee May
Mayzee May is an 8-year old English Bulldog who looks for pet handouts from members at Sand Point Country Club in Seattle, Washington. Sitting above the shores of Lake Washington, Sand Point Country Club was built in 1927 and went through a major remodel by David McLay Kidd in 2020. Mayzee enjoys running the course as much as her little legs will take her, checking cup depth on greens, and riding in the cart with the wind blowing in her face. When she's not at the course, Mayzee is usually snoring on the couch or sunbathing on the patio.
Nick Magnuson is a 9-year GCSAA member who graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Turf Management. Nick has worked in the golf industry for 20 years, at courses across the PNW. He took a brief sabbatical from the industry for a few years to try something new, the beer industry, but his love for golf brought him back in 2020. He has been at Sand Point Country Club ever since. When not at work, Nick spends time with his wife Allison, 1-year old son Asher, and of course Mayzee.
